Tips for Tryouts:

• Pre-REGISTER! All players must have parent permission, including returning players. Online registration is free. If a player cannot register online, they must bring a signed paper registration form to tryouts or their parent must come to tryouts and complete a paper registration form in person. • Players are encouraged to attend one or more of our optional, informal kickarounds. Kickarounds aren’t required but they give players a chance to prepare physically and meet coaches and potential teammates. KICKAROUND SCHEDULE PAGE.
• Players should attend both tryout sessions. Different activities are planned for each session. Evaluators want to get a good look at all players during both sessions. If it’s not possible for your player to attend both sessions let the coach know emailing them or talking to them at the first session.
• Check the schedule. Players who are registered online will be notified of schedule changes, but parents should always consult the website schedule to confirm.
• Players should arrive 20-30 minutes before the start of tryouts to allow time to check in, receive a numbered vest, and warm up.
• Relax and have fun! Coaches and evaluators want to see every player do their best.
• Parents are welcome to quietly observe tryouts but are asked to stay off the field.
• Coaches will be available to speak to parents before and after tryouts. Emails are also welcome. See the tryout schedule to contact a specific coach.

Players should bring to tryouts:

• Water
• Shin guards & soccer shoes
• Appropriately-sized ball is recommended. Make sure yours has your name on it if you bring one!
• Goalkeepers should bring their gloves
• Clothing appropriate for the weather; dress in layers!
• Sunscreen if necessary

Players should NOT bring:

• Club or team clothing—tryouts are not the place to wear your club uniform. Professional and college team gear is OK. Club soccer bag is OK.
• Pets. Service animals are the only animals allowed at LHSC tryouts, practices, and games.
• Gum, food, or beverages other than water. Keep our turf fields clean!
